Jennifer Spencer joins Thornley Fallis
It’s always exciting when new talent joins a team and we’re rather thrilled to make it official that Jennifer Spencer has joined Thornley Fallis as Vice-President.
A specialist in reputation, crisis and issues management, as well as stakeholder relations and citizen engagement, Spencer also brings to the team her extensive expertise in internal communications. Spencer has worked with all levels of management and employees, and has provided strategic communications counsel during major crises such as downsizing, labour negotiations and strikes.
Meet Jennifer Spencer
Prior to joining Thornley Fallis, Spencer has worked for agencies including Burson-Marsteller, Kerbel Communications, Hill & Knowlton and National Public Relations – where she formed a pharmaceutical practice. Spencer created agency Veritas Communications, which became an industry leader in healthcare public and government relations, with a special focus on issues management and advocacy.
Spencer left her agency in 2002 to join her client, Canadian Blood Services (CBS), where she headed up communications and public involvement. Her overriding objective was to maintain and build the trust of Canadians. Spencer successfully guided CBS through the West Nile Virus crisis, which was described by the CEO as “the litmus test” of the new blood system.
Past clients of Spencer’s have included manufacturers, non-governmental organizations, industry associations, professional associations, advocacy groups and governments. She has been a board member of the Canadian Public Health Association, BIOTECanada and the Ontario Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities.
Welcome to the team Jennifer!
